The GraphGear 1000 is Pentel's professional-grade drafting pencil — the more fully realised sibling of the GraphGear 500, with a full aluminium body, brass tip, and a dual-action retractor that sets it apart from most pencils in the category. Where the 500 has a fixed sleeve, the 1000's tip retracts completely into the barrel by pressing the clip — protecting the lead from breaking and the sleeve from bending when the pencil is carried in a pocket or pencil case. It is a small mechanical detail that makes the 1000 considerably more practical as an everyday carry tool without sacrificing any precision at the desk.

The 0.4 mm diameter sits between the 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm options — fine enough for precise, detailed work while being slightly more forgiving on lead breakage than the 0.3 mm. The knurled brass grip is fitted with soft, latex-free silicone rubber inserts that combine the tactile control of a metal grip with enough cushioning for extended writing sessions. The body is front-weighted, pulling the balance toward the tip for a controlled, deliberate stroke. A built-in lead hardness indicator on the barrel lets you mark the current grade at a glance, and a refillable eraser is tucked under a protective end cap. The hinged, spring-loaded clip attaches securely to thick objects — notebooks, folders, and pockets alike. Pre-loaded with Pentel Super Hi-Polymer HB lead.
